When I think back to when I transferred to Oakland University in the winter of 2020, I can't help to think how far I have come as a student and as a person. Throughout the two and half years, I have been able to gain confidence in myself when it comes to my academics, writing abilities, and overall self-esteem. I have been able to make countless connections and memories with my peers, sorority sisters, co-workers, and professors. I was involved in numerous organizations outside of the classroom, which has helped me to realize my potential in the field of social work including the Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society, Tri Sigma, ASB. I learned a lot about Oakland University working for Oakland's Undergraduate Admission office as an Admissions Ambassador.
My overall experience in Oakland University's Social Work Program was nothing but a positive one. I had some of the most amazing and supportive professors in my six years of being a college student. They are some of the most understanding people I have met and they have helped me through the most challenging two years of my life. I have been able to connect with other amazing students that all have bright futures in the field of social work.
